Founded in 1975, Bodega y Cavas de Weinert is located in Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina´s cradle for top quality wines.
Don Bernardo C. Weinert, founder and owner, was born n a small german colony in Southern Brazil. Fascinated by the world of wine, he decided to found his own winery in Argentina with one unconditional philosophy: producing high quality wines.
After extensive study, he decided that Lujon De Cuyo was the perfect place for the project. The soil, the climate...he felt everything was perfect for making premium wine. At the time, he acquired an old bodega, and promptly equipped it with state-of-the-art equipment, and received consultation from some of the premier oenologists in the world. His goal was simple: make the best wine possible in Mendoza.
Today, Bodegas Weinert produces some top flight wines from Argentina at everyday prices. Their Carrascal blend, a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, has the rustic style of old world Bordeaux. Some compare it to Chateau Musar. This is definitely not your normal Malbec blend, this is a wine of finesse and complexity. They also produce a premium Malbec that is unbelievable for the price.
So, stop by and enjoy some of Argentina's most unique red wines. You'll think you're on the riverbanks of the Gironde, rather than the foothills of the Andes. They also do a Bordeaux-style white, as well.
